Meeting Planning is Creative Work – Ways to Stay Creative

Many people, including meeting planners themselves, forget that meeting planning is more than emails, spreadsheets, budgets, and pushing paper; it is highly creative work. We may not be painting like Picasso, we may not be singing likeĀ Ella Fitzgerald, and we may not be taking photographs likeĀ Annie Leibovitz but we are creating something.

We are educating, entertaining and creating connections. The challenge is to do it in ways that keep the attendee involved and that they will enjoy. It is hard work and you are required to be creative whether you like it or not….it doesn’t matter if you are planning for a monster Fortune 500 company, an association, or a small business in the suburbs of Cleveland….

What you do matters to people everyday, never forget that.
