RIP Michael Hossack, who died Monday at the age of 65. Most will not know the man, but you will know the music.
Michael was the drummer for the iconic rock band The Doobie Brothers, and played a pivotal role in shaping the band’s signature sound. Known for his rhythmic precision and distinctive drumming style, Hossack contributed significantly to the Doobie Brothers’ success in the 1970s. His talent was especially evident in songs like “Listen to the Music” and “China Grove,” where his drumming added a dynamic energy that became synonymous with the band’s music. Hossack’s influence extended beyond his time with the Doobie Brothers, as he left an indelible mark on rock music.

Doobie Brothers drummer Michael Hossack passed away yesterday in Dubois, Wyoming, at the age of 65. His family was by his side. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and loved ones. We will miss him greatly.
I say we will all miss him greatly; he was one of the best rock drummers ever to hold the sticks.
